Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Israel’s TA-25 Index rose for the second time this week, gaining 0.3 percent to 1,070.73 at the 4:30 p.m. close in Tel Aviv. The index has declined 1.3 percent this week. Investors traded about 1.2 billion shekels ($319 million) of shares and convertible securities, according to bourse data.

Alvarion Ltd. (ALVR IT) surged the most since June 23, rising 10 percent to 3.405 shekels. The telecommunication equipment maker said Canada’s Xplornet Communications Inc. conducted successful trials of one of its products.
Shemen Oil & Gas Resources Ltd. (SMOG IT) rose 2.4 percent on the second day of trading to 0.21 shekel, giving the company a market value of 631 million shekels. The shares of the oil and gas explorer sold at 0.2647 shekel and declined 23 percent in their first trading day.
