Dec. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The Czech Republic’s PX equity index increased 1.5 percent to 901.1 by the close of trading in Prague, adding to a 5.4 percent advance last week.

Erste Group Bank AG (RBAG CP) of Austria gained 4.7 percent to 348.7 koruna, after a 16 percent advance last week. Lenders led a rally in European stocks as Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti’s proposal to cut his nation’s debt boosted demand for riskier assets worldwide.
New World Resources Plc (NWR CP), the biggest coking-coal producer in the Czech Republic, rose a second day, increasing 2.2 percent to 134.85 koruna. Europe’s benchmark coal derivatives increased 0.7 percent to $116 a metric ton, a two-week high, in the Netherlands.
