Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are at the close in Taipei trading.
The Taiex Index fell 0.5 percent to 7,140.68. The benchmark index surged 5.3 percent this week, the biggest advance since May 2009.
Chinatrust Financial Holding Co. (2891 TT) increased 2.3 percent to NT$18.10, the highest close since Nov. 9. Chinatrust Commercial Bank received Indian central bank approval to set up a branch in Sriperumbudur city, Chinatrust Financial, parent of the lender, said in an e-mailed statement.
Wintek Corp. (2384 TT) gained 1.8 percent to NT$22.90, the highest close since Nov. 2. Jay Huang, spokesman for the company, confirmed an Economic Daily News report that the touch-panel maker is developing image sensors for Smart TVs.
Via Technologies Inc. (2388 TT) dropped 1.8 percent to NT$19.35. The company’s November sales fell 20 percent from a year earlier to NT$343 million ($11.4 million).
