Huawei Says Some Algeria Staff On Strike; Business Unaffected

Huawei Technologies Co., China’s largest maker of phone equipment, said some support staff in Algeria have gone on strike over “adjustments” to the administration of operations in the country.

The strike hasn’t affected service to customers and local business continues “normally,” Ross Gan, a spokesman for Shenzhen-based Huawei, said in an e-mailed statement today. Huawei is having “constructive discussions” with the relevant union representatives, Gan said.
