Nov. 28 (Bloomberg) -- AC Milan beat Chievo 4-0 to maintain pressure on Juventus atop Italian soccer’s Serie A, while Bayern Munich dropped to third spot in the Bundesliga after a 3-2 loss at Mainz.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic got two goals, while Thiago Silva and Alexandre Pato also scored for Milan yesterday at its San Siro stadium to keep the Rossoneri within one point of Juventus.
Juventus, which won 1-0 at Lazio the previous day on a goal from Simone Pepe, can stretch its lead to four points with a win at Napoli tomorrow. Udinese is tied on points with Milan, with Lazio two points back. Udinese beat Roma 2-0 two days ago.
Inter Milan continued its recovery with a 1-0 victory at Siena yesterday and is now 15th. Among other games, Cesena beat Genoa 2-0, Palermo defeated Fiorentina 2-0, while Cagliari and Bologna tied 1-1.

Arouna Kone scored two goals as Levante beat Sporting Gijon 4-0 yesterday to record its eighth victory in 13 La Liga games. Levante remains in fourth spot in Spain, one point behind local rival Valencia, with Barcelona another point ahead.

Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid 4-1 two days ago to increase its lead over Barcelona to six points as the champion suffered a 1-0 loss at Getafe.
In yesterday’s other games, Real Sociedad won 3-2 at Real Betis, Osasuna defeated Espanyol 2-1, Real Mallorca beat Racing Santander 2-1, Granada won 1-0 at Bilbao and Sevilla defeated host Zaragoza by the same score.
Montpellier moved three points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain atop the French league after PSG lost 3-0 at Marseille yesterday. Montpellier defeated Sochaux 3-1 the previous day. Rennes and Lille are five points behind.
AZ Alkmaar retained its three-point lead in the Eredivisie through the weekend’s matches after a 2-0 win against FC Utrecht three days ago. It has also played one less match than second-place PSV Eindhoven, which beat Groningen 6-1. FC Twente is a further four points back after being held to a 0-0 draw by Vitesse.
