Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- The 30-stock Micex Index advanced 0.8 percent to 1,401.91 at the 6:45 p.m. close in Moscow, paring yesterday’s loss of 4.8 percent. The dollar-denominated RTS Index rose 0.4 percent to 1,431.13.
The following are among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parentheses:
Bank Vozrozhdenie (VZRZ RX), a Russian lender, advanced the most in more than three weeks after reporting its net third-quarter income more than doubled to 411 million rubles ($13.2 million) from 179 million rubles a year earlier. The stock rose 4.3 percent to 689.70 rubles, the biggest daily jump since Oct. 28.
Evraz Plc. (EVRZ LI) rose 1.4 percent to $15.05 in London after Goldman Sachs Group Inc. affirmed its “buy” recommendation for the steelmaker in an e-mailed note and said it was a “top pick.” Rival OAO Severstal (CHMF RX) gained 2.5 percent to 404.20 rubles after Goldman raised its recommendation to “buy” from “neutral.”
OAO Rosneft (ROSN RX) and OAO Lukoil (LKOH RX), Russia’s two largest oil companies, advanced as crude futures climbed 1.4 percent to $98.29 a barrel in New York. Rosneft gained 0.8 percent to 205.02 rubles, and Lukoil rose 0.5 percent to 1,651.40 rubles.
