Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Zambia’s former president, Rupiah Banda, is being investigated about his alleged involvement in a $700,000 housing project, said Wezzy Chomba, spokesman for the southern African nation’s anti-graft agency.
The joint probe by police, the Drug Enforcement Commission and the Anti-Corruption Commission is looking at how financing for the project was arranged, Chomba said in an e-mailed statement yesterday.
Wakumelo Mikatazo, Banda’s spokesman, couldn’t be reached on his mobile phone.
