Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Vietnam, the world’s second-largest rice exporter, shipped 6.55 million metric tons from the start of the year to Nov. 17, the Vietnam Food Association said.
Shipments were 230,755 tons between Nov. 1 and Nov. 17, the association said in a statement on its website today.
Vietnam may ship 7.49 million tons in 2011, the nation’s agricultural ministry said in a report in October. The country exported a record 6.75 million tons of rice last year, according to the association.
