Man Charged Over Online Threats to U.K. Lawmaker Louise Mensch

Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. police said that a 60-year-old man was charged with threatening U.K. lawmaker Louise Mensch using e-mail and a social-networking site.

Frank Zimmerman, of Gloucester, England, was arrest on Aug. 25 by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s e-crime unit. He will appear at Gloucester Magistrates Court on Dec. 12 charged with improper use of a public communications network, U.K. police said in an e-mailed statement today.

Mensch, the member of Parliament for Corby, told followers of her Twitter account on Aug. 21 she had received e-mails threatening her children, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph newspaper at the time.

Police said they had received a complaint on Aug. 22.
