Costs, Drought to Curb Kenya Tea Companies’ Earnings, Daily Says

Nov. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Growth in Kenyan tea companies’ earnings is expected to slow this fiscal year because of rising operational costs and the dry weather experienced at the beginning of the year, Business Daily reported.

The drought has led to lower production, the Nairobi-based newspaper reported, citing Nigel Sandys-Lemsdaine, chairman of Williamson Tea Ltd. and Kapchorua Tea Co., producers of the leaves in the East African nation.
