Nov. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose less than 0.1 percent to 984.97, a fourth day of advance.
Advanced Info Service Pcl (ADVANC TB), Thailand’s biggest mobile-phone company, climbed 2.2 percent to 142.50 baht, a record close. Flooding in the country’s central region hasn’t affected its service revenue in the fourth quarter, Executive Vice President Somchai Lertsuttiwong told reporters in Bangkok today.
Bualuang Securities Pcl (BLS TB), a stock brokerage, surged 27 percent to 21.50 baht, the highest close since the company listed in February 2005. Bangkok Bank Pcl (BBL TB), the nation’s largest commercial lender, will offer to buy the shares of Bualuang it doesn’t already own at 22 baht each, it said in a regulatory filing. That’s a 30 percent increase from yesterday’s closing price of 16.9 baht.
Land & Houses Pcl (LH TB), the nation’s biggest home builder by market value, increased 2.5 percent to 6.15 baht, the highest close since Oct. 18. Profit in the third quarter climbed 14 percent to 905.2 million baht ($29.4 million).
Pan Asia Footwear Pcl (PAF TB), the nation’s largest shoemaker, slid 15 percent to 1.56 baht, the steepest decline since Sept. 26. The company posted a net loss of 115.5 million baht in the third quarter, compared with a loss of 234 million baht in the same quarter last year.
Solartron Pcl (SOLAR TB), a maker of solar-energy equipment, jumped 5.5 percent to 1.92 baht, the most since March 15. The company reported a net income of 37.9 million baht in the third quarter, from a net loss of 13.8 million baht in the same period a year earlier.
