Rodrik, Eichengreen Say ECB Must Act on Crisis, Boersen Reports

Nov. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Economists including Harvard University Professor Dani Rodrik and Barry Eichengreen, an economics professor at the University of California at Berkeley, said the European Central Bank should do more to end the European debt crisis, Germany’s Boersen-Zeitung reported.

Amid an escalation in the crisis, the ECB must decide to intervene further and act as the “last saviour,” Rodrik said, while Eichengreen said it must take action because of Italy’s high borrowing costs, the German newspaper cited them as saying in a preview of an article that will be published tomorrow.
