Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose 1.4 percent to 984.28, the highest close since Sept. 22.
Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Pcl (BGH TB), Thailand’s biggest private hospital operator, gained 1.9 percent to 68.50 baht, the highest level since Sept. 21. Profit in the third quarter jumped 74 percent to 1.27 billion baht ($41.3 million).
Lanna Resources Pcl (LANNA TB), a coal producer, increased 3.5 percent to 23.60 baht, the steepest advance since Oct. 6. Net income in the third quarter almost doubled to 266.6 million baht ($8.67 million), from 141.8 million baht a year earlier.
PTT Pcl (PTT TB), the nation’s biggest energy company, gained 1.3 percent to 304 baht. Net income in the third quarter was 21.6 billion baht, from 21.7 billion baht a year earlier, PTT said in a filing to the Thai exchange. That beat a 21.2 billion-baht median estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
Southern Concrete Pile Pcl (SCP TB), a maker of concrete products, jumped 12 percent to 15.70 baht, the biggest gain since May 31. Profit in the third quarter climbed 56 percent to 19.96 million baht, it said in a statement to the stock exchange.
Thai Wire Products Pcl (TWP TB), a producer of steel wires, rose 7.3 percent to 13.20 baht, the largest increase since Aug. 15. Profit in the third quarter almost doubled to 22.5 million baht.
