Nov. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick broke two ribs in yesterday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals and he is questionable for the next game against the New York Giants, coach Andy Reid said.
Vick continued to play in the 21-17 loss after being injured on a hit during the team’s second offensive play.
After delivering a pass to tight end Brent Celek, Vick was hit hard in the side by linebacker Daryl Washington, leading to the injury, the team said on its website.
Reid told reporters today that the injury “probably” had something to do with Vick’s performance in the game. Vick completed 16-of-34 passes, while throwing two interceptions as the Eagles dropped to 3-6.
The Eagles, the defending National Football Conference East Division champions, will face the Giants on Nov. 20 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Asked if Vick would play in the game, Reid replied, “We’ll see.”
