Nov. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.
The Ipsa index fell 0.3 percent to 4,325.76. The MSCI Chile index slumped 1 percent to 2,426.19.
Cencosud SA (CENCOSUD CC) rose 2 percent to a four-month high of 3,232.6 pesos. Chile’s biggest retailer by sales is about to complete the acquisition of Brazil’s supermarket chain Prezunic Comercial Ltda. for about $430 million, O Estado de S. Paulo reported, without saying where it got the information. Executives from both companies declined to comment, the Sao Paulo-based newspaper reported.
Cia. Sud Americana de Vapores SA (VAPORES CC), Latin America’s largest container shipping company, gained 0.7 percent to 149 pesos. CSAV has rallied 5.3 percent in the three days since announcing talks with Royal Boskalis Westminster NV to combine their regional towage operations.
Enersis SA (ENERSIS CC) fell 2.8 percent to 192.32 pesos, the most in six months, and led losses among members of the benchmark Ipsa index. The Latin American electricity holding company, a unit of Spain’s Endesa, was cut Nov. 11 to “hold” from “buy” at Banco Santander SA.
