Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Leinster opened defense of its Heineken Cup rugby title by rallying to tie Montpellier 16-16.
Jonathan Sexton kicked a penalty in the final seconds to earn Leinster the draw in France. Sexton booted 11 points and Sean Cronin scored a try for the champions. Fulgence Ouedraogo touched down and Benoit Paillaugue kicked eight points for Montpellier.
In other results on the opening weekend of European rugby’s top club competition, Leicester Tigers won 28-12 at Aironi and Edinburgh beat London Irish 20-19. Four more games are on the schedule for later today.
