Nov. 8 (Bloomberg) -- German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said Greece should stay in the euro-area because a departure would create risks for the German economy and for Europe, the Hamburger Abendblatt reported, citing an interview.
Calling for Greece’s exit from the euro region may seem the easiest way out politically, the newspaper quoted Westerwelle as saying in comments published today. Fellow members of his Free Democratic Party, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s junior coalition ally, are suggesting Greece should leave monetary union, the newspaper said.
