Nov. 8 (Bloomberg) -- CESC Ltd. may order about 100,000 metric tons of imported thermal coal by the middle of this month, India Coal Market Watch reported, without saying where it got the information.
The order is for coal with a gross calorific value of 4,800 kilocalories per kilogram and may be delivered in two shipments in mid-December and mid-February, the newsletter said.
Separately, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co. has extended the deadline for submission of offers in a supply tender to Nov. 14 from Nov. 2, according to the newsletter. The company is seeking to import 260,000 tons of coal for delivery in Gujarat between December 2011 and October 2012, it said.
Calls to CESC’s office in Calcutta and Gujarat Narmada in Gujarat were not answered.
