Newcastle Beats Everton 2-1 to Remain Unbeaten in Premier League

Nov. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Newcastle defeated Everton 2-1 to remain unbeaten and move into second place in English soccer’s Premier League.

An own-goal from John Heitinga and Ryan Taylor’s score gave Newcastle a 2-0 lead after 29 minutes at St. James’ Park. Jack Rodwell then scored for Everton in first-half injury time.

Newcastle has 25 points, two more than Manchester United, which plays Sunderland later. The Magpies trail first-place Manchester City, which is at QPR later, by three points.
