Caliper Life, Southwall, Williams-Sonoma: U.S. Equity Preview

Nov. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in U.S. trading on Nov. 7. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK/A US): The firm run by billionaire Chief Executive Officer Warren Buffett said third-quarter profit fell 24 percent as derivative bets declined in value.

Caliper Life Sciences Inc. (CALP US): Mario Gabelli’s Gamco Investors Inc. (GBL US) reported a stake equal to 5.52 percent of the shares in the maker of medical-testing products that is being acquired by PerkinElmer Inc. for $600 million.

Gamco also reported a position equal to 5.8 percent in Southwall Technologies Inc. (SWTX US), a maker of glass-coating film.

Entergy Corp. (ETR US): The operator of nuclear power plants forecast 2012 profit of as much as $6.20 a share, above the average analyst estimate of $6.03 in a Bloomberg survey.

Williams-Sonoma Inc. (WSM US): The gourmet-cookware retailer bought Rejuvenation Inc. for an undisclosed price. The company makes authentic reproduction lighting and house parts.
