Taiwan Equity Movers: Lung Yen Life Service Gains, Wintek Falls

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are at the close in Taipei.

The Taiex Index fell 1.8 percent to 7,460.31, the biggest drop since Oct. 3.

Lung Yen Life Service Corp. (5530 TT) surged 5.1 percent to NT$101, the highest close since Sept. 5. The company’s construction unit bought NT$1.51 billion ($50 million) of property in New Taipei City yesterday, the Taiwan-based parent said in a statement to the local stock exchange.

Wintek Corp. (2384 TT) dropped 6.7 percent to NT$21.75, the lowest close since June 10, 2010. October sales fell 32 percent from a year earlier to NT$5.64 billion, the touch panel company said in a statement to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
