ISRAEL DAYBOOK: Gaza Aid Ships Challenge Blockade; Nice Reports

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Two boats carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza will challenge a naval blockade of the Palestinian territory, according to organizers. Israel has said it will intercept any vessel heading for Gaza in order to prevent weapons smuggling to the Hamas Islamic movement, which controls the area. * Nice Systems Ltd. (NICE IT) is scheduled to release third-quarter earnings.

WHAT TO WATCH: * The Knesset Finance Committee will discuss an economic efficiency law proposal on tax and customs issues. * The military will hold a large homefront-readiness exercise in the central coastal region.

EQUITY MOVERS: * D-Pharm Ltd. (DPRM IT): the biopharmaceutical company reported a third-quarter loss that widened to 15.5 million shekels ($4.2 million) from 6.7 million shekels a year earlier. * Ormat Industries Ltd. (ORMT IT): Ormat Technologies Inc., the U.S. unit of the developer of geothermal power plants, said third-quarter net income fell to $1 million from $32.4 million a year earlier as interest expense rose and after a gain last year wasn’t repeated. * EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (EZCH IT) fell to $31.81, the equivalent of 117.03 shekels, in New York after the maker of network processors said fourth-quarter sales will fall. The shares closed at 115.90 shekels in Tel Aviv yesterday.

MARKETS: * The TA-25 Index declined 0.1 percent to 1,100.68. * The yield on the Mimshal Shiklit government bond due January 2022 was at 4.58 percent. * The shekel fell 0.3 percent to 3.6797 per dollar at 9:02 a.m. in Tel Aviv. * Corn for December delivery lost 0.6 percent to $6.41 a bushel. * Crude oil for December delivery retreated 1.4 percent to $91.26 a barrel. * Gold for immediate delivery dropped 0.4 percent to $1,731.63 an ounce. * The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 1.5 percent.

MEETINGS: * Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (TEVA IT) is scheduled to present new data on QNASL, a nasal aerosol corticosteroid, at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in Boston that opens today. * The Digital Life Design global conference on innovation, digital media, science and culture in Tel Aviv.
