Greek Minister Calls for Ruling Party Deputies to Meet, ANA Says

Greek Agriculture Minister Costas Skandalidis called for an emergency meeting of ruling party lawmakers to discuss developments before a confidence vote in the government tomorrow, state-run Athens News Agency reported, without saying how it got the information.

Skandalidis said the body had to meet to take collective decisions and that plans for a referendum that would determine if Greece stayed in the euro area were nonsensical, the newswire said. Skandalidis said Greece’s European course is a given and not a matter for negotiation, ANA said.
