Greece’s Diamantopoulou ‘Insulted’ by Merkel, Sarkozy Statements

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Greek Education Minister Anna Diamantopoulou, a former European Commissioner, said she felt insulted by statements made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicola Sarkozy yesterday.

“I was deeply insulted by the manner and statements of Merkel and Sarkozy and we await explanations,” Diamantopoulou told reporters in Athens today. “Our immediate priority is clear: to remain in Europe, in the euro and to approve this bailout agreement and keep, not parties, but the people united.”
