Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Egypt, the world’s biggest wheat importer, bought 180,000 metric tons of Russian and Ukrainian wheat at a tender today, said Nomani Nomani, vice chairman of the General Authority for Supply Commodities.

The state-run authority bought 60,000 tons of Ukrainian milling wheat at $247.92 a ton from Toepfer International and 60,000 tons of Russian wheat at $252.50 a ton from Aston, Nomani said by phone in Cairo. The country also bought 60,000 tons of Russian wheat at $252.50 from Nidera, he said.

The grain, which was bought on a free-on-board basis, is for Jan. 21-31 shipment, Nomani said.
