Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Barcelona defeated Viktoria Plzen 4-0 to qualify for the round of 16 in soccer’s Champions League.
Lionel Messi scored three goals for defending European champion Barcelona, which leads Group H with 10 points after four of six matches. The Barcelona win also qualified second-place AC Milan, which tied 1-1 with BATE Borisov, for the next round.
The top two teams in each of the eight groups advance to the round of 16.
Chelsea drew 1-1 with Genk and Valencia beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 in Group E, Arsenal and Marseille drew 0-0 and Dortmund defeated Olympiacos 1-0 in Group F, while APOEL Nicosia beat Porto 2-1 and Zenit St. Petersburg defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 in Group G.
