Chelsea Fined $32,000 by F.A. for Players’ Conduct Against QPR

Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Chelsea was fined 20,000 pounds ($32,000) by the Football Association for “failure to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion” during a game against Queens Park Rangers on Oct. 23.

The fine resulted from Chelsea players surrounding match official Chris Foy immediately after he red-carded Jose Bosingwa in the Blues’ 1-0 loss at Loftus Road.

Bosingwa was sent off in the 29th minute after Foy deemed that he denied Shaun Wright-Phillips a goal-scoring opportunity by hauling him down outside the penalty area. At least six Chelsea players surrounded the referee after he produced the red card. Striker Didier Drogba was then dismissed less than 15 minutes later for a two-footed lunge on Adel Taarabt.
