Giants’ Brandon Jacobs Tells Magazine He Wants Out of New York

Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is frustrated with the way the team has used him and would like to play elsewhere next season, according to an interview with Men’s Fitness magazine.

Jacobs, 29, said it has been difficult for him this season because the Giants have not used him enough. He said he “can’t wait” to have an opportunity to play with a different National Football League team.

Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon declined in an e-mail to comment on Jacobs’ remarks.

“I don’t get enough carries to say I was part of anything,” Jacobs told the magazine. “I just want to get out there and show myself. It’s going to have to be for another team.”

Jacobs has 116 yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries in four games this season. He is due a $500,000 roster bonus next year, in addition to $4.4 million in base salary, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Jacobs also said that the team has misused teammate Ahmad Bradshaw, who has 98 carries in six games this season.

The Giants, with four wins and two losses, host the 0-6 Miami Dolphins on Oct. 30.
