RUSSIA DAYBOOK: Rosneft, TNK-BP, Mail.Ru Earnings; Mechel Output

Oct. 25 (Bloomberg) -- OAO Rosneft and TNK-BP International Ltd. report third-quarter earnings. Mail.ru Group publishes first-half results and third-quarter revenue. OAO Mechel and OAO Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works report third-quarter production. OAO Transneft opens the Samotlor-Purpe oil pipeline.

WHAT TO WATCH: *Prime Minister Vladimir Putin lays a wreath at the Khatsun memorial in the Bryansk region. *President Dmitry Medvedev’s economic adviser Arkady Dvorkovich, Skolkovo Fund President Viktor Vekselberg and OAO Russian Nanotechnologies Corp. Chairman Anatoly Chubais hold a briefing on modernization at 10:00 a.m. *Federation Council head Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov meet with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. *Russian CFO summit, organized by Adam Smith Conferences, opens in Moscow. *Russia-Switzerland and Russia-Iceland business forums meet in Moscow.

EQUITY MOVERS: *Rosneft publishes a statement on third-quarter earnings. *TNK-BP reports third-quarter earnings and Chief Financial Office Jonathan Muir comments in a briefing. *Mechel releases its third-quarter production results. *Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works issues its third-quarter production results. *Mail.ru Group reports first-half earnings and third-quarter sales. *Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev and Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko open the Purpe-Samotlor link to feed the East Siberian Pacific Ocean pipeline to Asia.

MARKETS: *The 30-stock Micex Index rose 2.5 percent to 1,482.81, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index gained 3.6 percent to 1,508.82. *Russia’s benchmark 2018 ruble Eurobond advanced 0.2 percent, reducing the yield five basis points to 7.786 percent. *The ruble strengthened 1.3 percent to 30.6250 per dollar and 1.5 percent to 42.5100 per euro. *The MSCI Emerging Markets Index rose 0.8 percent to 956.69 at 9:04 a.m. *Crude for December delivery advanced 0.6 percent to $91.79 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. *Brent crude lost 0.2 percent to $111.28 a barrel on the ICE Futures Europe exchange in London. *Gold for immediate delivery rose 0.2 percent to $1,657.18 an ounce.
