RUSSIA DAYBOOK: Energy Week, Armenian Talks, Norilsk, Polymetal

WHAT TO WATCH: *Shmatko, OAO Gazprom Deputy Chief Executive Officer Alexander Medvedev and Rosatom Corp. Chief Executive Officer Sergei Kiriyenko are among the officials expected to speak at Moscow Energy Week after 10 a.m. *Medvedev and Sargsyan are scheduled to meet after 11 a.m.

EQUITY MOVERS: *Norilsk said nickel output in the third quarter increased 23 percent from the previous three months. *Polymetal, a Russian gold and silver producer, may announce how much shareholders agreed to swap int3o stock in U.K.-based Polymetal International Plc. *OAO AvtoVAZ, the country’s biggest carmaker, may report nine-month earnings. *Federal Grid Co. may sell 10 billion rubles ($322 million) of bonds. *VTB Group, Russia’s second-biggest bank, sold 225 million Swiss francs ($255 million) in debt due in 2015 at a 5 percent yield.

MARKETS: *The 30-stock Micex Index rose 2 percent to 1,447.01, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index gained 2.4 percent to 1,456.73. *Russia’s benchmark 2018 ruble Eurobond advanced 0.2 percent, reducing the yield 3 basis points to 7.832 percent. *The ruble strengthened 1 percent to 31.0350 per dollar and slid 0.5 percent to 43.1600 per euro. *The MSCI Emerging Markets Index rose 2 percent to 939.31 at 9 a.m. *Crude for December delivery advanced 0.9 percent to $88.15 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 9 a.m. *Brent crude gained 0.6 percent to $110.15 a barrel at 9 a.m. *Gold for immediate delivery increased 0.2 percent to $1,646.15 an ounce at 9 a.m.
