Portugal’s EU Aid Program Enough for Banks, Premier Says

The amount earmarked in Portugal’s external aid program for banks is “largely enough,” Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho told reporters in Brussels today.

“Portuguese banks are not in worse conditions than the rest of Europe,” Passos Coelho said. The plan includes 12 billion euros for the recapitalization of banks.
