Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Kuala Lumpur.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index rose 10.31 points, or 0.7 percent, to 1,450.25.
Bursa Malaysia Bhd. (BURSA MK), the nation’s stock exchange manager, advanced 2.2 percent to 6.41 ringgit. Bursa’s third-quarter profit rose 39 percent from a year earlier to 38.6 million ringgit ($12.4 million), it said in a statement.
Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd. (FBC MK), a construction company, climbed 2.7 percent to 94.5 sen after saying it secured a 166.4 million-ringgit building contract.
Genting Malaysia Bhd. (GENM MK) rose 5.4 percent to 3.69 ringgit, the steepest increase since Sept. 2. The casino and hotel operator will open Resorts World Casino New York City on Oct. 28 at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, it said in a statement. This will be New York City’s first casino, which will have 2,485 electronic slot machines and table games in its first phase, Genting said.
Mah Sing Group Bhd. (MSGB MK), a property developer, gained 1.1 percent to 1.91 ringgit. Mah Sing’s share-price estimate was raised to 2.14 ringgit from 2.05 ringgit at Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd., which cited its growth prospects.
