Polish Ruling Party Has 31% Support Before Vote, Gazeta Says

Oct. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Support for Poland’s ruling Civic Platform party, stood at 31 percent in a Sept. 29 telephone poll by Warsaw-based market researcher TNS OBOP, Gazeta Wyborcza reported today.

Law & Justice, the biggest opposition party, had a 22 percent approval rating, while 6 percent of the 1,000 adults polled supported the Democratic Left Alliance, also in the opposition.

The Polish Peasant Party, the junior coalition partner in the government, was backed by 6 percent of respondents, while the Palikot Movement had the support of 7 percent, according to Gazeta. No comparison with the previous poll was given.

Twenty-five percent of the participants said they hadn’t decided how they will vote in the general election on Oct. 9, the newspaper reported. The margin of error was 3 percentage points, according to the paper.
