Sept. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 1:30 p.m. close in Taipei.
The Taiex Index fell 169.10 points, or 2.4 percent, to 6,877.12, the lowest level since Aug. 31, 2009.
Chinatrust Financial Holding Co. (2891 TT) lost 2.1 percent to NT$16.25. The financial services company was cut to “neutral” from “buy” at Jih Sun Securities Co. by equity analyst Eric Chang.
Quanta Computer Inc. (2382 TT) rose 4 percent to NT$50, the biggest rally in a month, after Apple Daily News reported the laptop maker will ship the Ultrabook, a type of thinner notebook computer, to Samsung Electronics Co. from the fourth quarter. Carol Hsu, a spokeswoman for Quanta, didn’t immediately answer calls to her office.
