Sept. 26 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 3:18 p.m. New York time.
The Ipsa index rose 1.1 percent to 3,812.27. The MSCI Chile index gained 1.9 percent to 2,086.13.
Soc. Quimica & Minera de Chile SA (SQM/B CC) gained 3 percent to 24,757 pesos, the biggest advance in more than two weeks. Chile’s largest fertilizer producer rose today in line with global equities as finance ministers and central bankers urged policy makers in Europe to intensify efforts to contain the region’s debt crisis.
Empresas CMPC SA (CMPC CC) rose 2.1 percent to 1,707.1 pesos, its second day of gains. Chile’s second-largest pulp exporter secured $600 million in financing in a syndicated loan and line of credit, Diario Financiero wrote today.
Empresas La Polar SA (LAPOLAR CC) fell 4.9 percent to a record low 320 pesos. The Chilean department store operator is seeking a strategic investor as part of efforts to avert bankruptcy, Diario Financiero reported.
