Pattern Energy Group LP, a San Francisco-based renewable energy developer, and Samsung C&T Corp. bought a 180-megawatt wind farm in southern Ontario from Acciona SA.
The Armow project will use turbine components produced by Siemens AG in Ontario, Pattern said today in a statement. Construction is set to begin in 2013 and the wind farm, in Kincardine township about 235 kilometers (146 miles) northeast of Toronto, is expected to go into operation the following year. Ontario Power Authority will buy its electricity. The price was not disclosed.
