Malaysia Stock Movers: Alam, Ariantec Global, Taliworks, Takaso

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 5 p.m. close in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index rose 10.24 points, or 0.7 percent, to 1,464.61, snapping a two-day drop.

Alam Maritim Resources Bhd. (AMRB MK), an oil and gas services provider, added 7.5 percent to 78.5 sen, the largest increase since April 20. Alam won a 220.8 million-ringgit ($74 million) contract to supply two vessels to ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Malaysia Inc., according to a company statement.

Ariantec Global Bhd. (AGB MK), a computer services provider, climbed 17 percent to 3.5 sen after winning a 19.8 million-ringgit contract from Niagara Technologies International Sdn. to install and maintain bandwidth management equipment.

Taliworks Corp. (CI MK), a water treatment plant operator, added 1.8 percent to 1.14 ringgit, its highest close since Aug. 24. Taliworks won a 339.4 million ringgit contract from China International Water and Electric Corp. (M) Sdn. to help expand the Mengkuang Dam in Penang state, it said in a statement.

Takaso Resources Bhd. (TRB MK), a consumer products company, advanced 4.6 percent to 23 sen, snapping a three-day, 55 percent plunge. Takaso isn’t aware of any reason for the recent fall, it said in a statement.
