Sept. 2 (Bloomberg) -- American Donald Young defeated No. 14 seed Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland in five sets today at the U.S. Open.
Young, 22, who got into the tournament as a wild card, is ranked 84th on the ATP Tour. By advancing to the third round, he matched his career best at the U.S. Open.
Young won 7-6 (9-7), 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1).
