Aug. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Caisse Federale du Credit Mutuel Nord Europe may bid for Citigroup Inc.’s Belgian unit, De Tijd reported without saying where it got the information.
Credit Mutuel Nord Europe is one of several banks considering an offer for Citibank Belgium, De Tijd said. Citibank Belgium has more than 500,000 customers served by more than 200 branches, according to the newspaper.
Lars Seynaeve, a spokesman for Citibank, told De Tijd that discussions were under way with several parties and gave no further details.
