Aug. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels will miss a start against the Florida Marlins on Aug. 26 due to inflammation in his pitching shoulder, the team said.
Hamels was placed on the disabled list by the Major League Baseball team, retroactive to Aug. 13. The left-hander is expected to start again against the Cincinnati Reds on Aug. 29, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
In 25 starts, Hamels has a 13-7 record with a 2.62 earned run average and 155 strikeouts.
The Phillies lead the National League East with an 82-44 record following a 10-0 win over the New York Mets yesterday.
