Aug. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11 a.m. local-time close.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose 0.1 percent to 384.32, snapping a five-day loss.
Materials - Petroleum Joint-Stock Co. (COM VN), a construction company and petroleum products trader, known as Comeco, increased 3.3 percent to 31,000 dong, the highest close since July 15. Saigon Petro Co. plans to increase its stake in the company to 27 percent from 24.59 percent, according to a statement filed on the exchange’s website.
Vietnam Sun Corp. (VNS VN), a provider of travel services, rose 1 percent to 20,200 dong, the steepest gain since Aug. 1. The company will pay its shareholders a dividend of 1,000 dong a share on Sept. 15, it said in a statement on the bourse’s website.
