Aug. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11 a.m. local-time close.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose 1.2 percent to 396.05, snapping five days of declines.
Cuu Long Fish Joint-Stock Co. (ACL VN), a catfish producer and exporter, increased 4.6 percent to 23,000 dong, the steepest gain since July 13. The company said net profit more than doubled to 51 billion dong ($2.5 million) in the second quarter, according to a statement on the exchange’s website.
Southern Seed Corp. (SSC VN), a producer of crop seeds for farmers, climbed 4.8 percent to 19,700 dong, the largest rally since July 26. The company will pay its shareholders a dividend of 1,000 dong a share on Sept. 5, it said in a statement filed on the bourse’s website.
Thanh Cong Textile Garment Joint-Stock Co. (TCM VN), which manufactures and markets textiles and garments, gained 3.8 percent to 13,700 dong. Unconsolidated profit rose to 55.7 billion dong from 22.6 billion dong in the second quarter, the company said in the statement posted on the exchange’s website.
