July 28 (Bloomberg) -- Canada’s New Democratic Party, the country’s largest opposition party, has chosen Nycole Turmel as interim leader.
Turmel, who spoke to reporters at a press conference in Ottawa today, is standing in for Jack Layton, who stepped aside earlier this week for health reasons. Layton said he hopes to return in September.
