On Tuesday morning, Secretary Geithner will participate in a moderated discussion with Washington Bureau Chief Gerald Seib on the state of the economy, fiscal challenges and the debt limit at the Wall Street Journal CFO Network meeting. This event is open to correspondents; broadcast clips will be available from Dow Jones upon request following the event.
Later, Secretary Geithner will meet with members of the Retail Industry Leaders Association for a discussion on the Administration’s agenda for promoting job creation and economic growth. This meeting is closed press.
In the afternoon, the Secretary will attend the Vice President’s next meeting of the bipartisan, bicameral group of Members of Congress to continue work on a legislative framework for comprehensive deficit reduction. Participants in the meeting will include the Vice President, Senator Daniel Inouye, Senator Jon Kyl, Senator Max Baucus, Representative Eric Cantor, Representative James Clyburn, Representative Chris Van Hollen, Director of the Office of Management and Budget Jacob Lew, and Director of the National Economic Council Gene Sperling. Later in the afternoon, the Secretary will meet with the President at the White House. This meeting is closed press.
