June 21 (Bloomberg) -- The 30-stock Micex Index climbed 0.6 percent to 1,635.38 by the 6:45 p.m. close in Moscow, snapping the longest losing streak since October 2008. The dollar-denominated RTS Index advanced 0.8 percent to 1,872.45.
The following are among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parenthesis.
OAO Tatneft (TATN3 RX) rose after benefiting from a climb in crude futures of as much as $1.48 to $94.74 per barrel and announcing net income in the first quarter more than doubled to from 11.6 billion rubles ($414.8 million) a year earlier. The shares added 3.1 percent to 170.12 rubles.
OAO Novatek (NOTK RX) rose 2.5 percent to 338.54 rubles. Russia’s second-largest gas producer may acquire the natural gas assets that OAO Alrosa sold to VTB Capital in 2009, Novatek’s press service said late yesterday. The company plans to boost its share of the Russian market to 15 percent in 2015 from 10 percent now, Chief Financial Officer Mark Gyetvay said today at a conference in London.
