June 16 (Bloomberg) -- Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara will set up a committee of senior military officials to review army promotions awarded under ex-leader Laurent Gbagbo’s regime, according to a government statement.
The committee, headed by Defense Minister Guillaume Soro, is to “review the appointments and promotions of officers and soldiers of rank, and address the anomalies,” according to an e-mailed statement yesterday.
It will comprise six army generals, including chief of staff Philippe Mangou, the statement said.
