June 3 (Bloomberg) -- Pakistan’s overseas shipments and domestic sales of cement declined in May as construction slowed.
Cement makers sold 1.9 million metric tons of cement in the local market in May, compared with 2.1 million tons a year ago, according to data posted on the website of the All-Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association. Exports fell to 875,955 tons from 957,481 tons a year earlier.
Overseas sales fell 12.5 percent to 8.5 million tons during the 11 months ended May 31 and local sales declined 7.1 percent to 19.9 million tons, according to the data.
