May 25 (Bloomberg) -- Roman Abramovich isn’t bidding to buy Central European Distribution Corp., John Mann, a spokesman for the Russian billionaire, said in response to a report that he was seeking to acquire the world’s largest producer of vodka.
The story is “another poor attempt to make money off Abramovich’s name,” Mann said by phone today when asked about the report on Benzinga.com.
CEDC traded at 34.3 zloty at 1:28 p.m. in Warsaw, a gain of 6.2 percent, after rising by as much as 10 percent before Mann’s comments.
