EDF, Societe Generale, Bollore, PPR: French Equity Preview

The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in Paris. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.

France’s benchmark CAC 40 Index rose 0.3 percent, to 3,916.88, while the broader SBF 120 Index rose 0.3 percent to 2,955.37.

Baccarat (BCRA FP): The crystal manufacturer reported first-quarter 2011 sales of 31.5 million euros, a 28.5 percent increase over the same period a year before after adjusting for exchange rates. The shares were unchanged at 155 euros.

Bollore SA (BOL FP): The holding company completed a 350-million euro bond sale at 5.375 percent due in 2016. The shares rose 1.1 percent to 173.85 euros.

Electricite de France SA (EDF FP): Europe’s biggest power producer said it will focus development on nuclear energy even after the disaster at Fukushima in Japan. The shares fell 0.4 percent to 28.27 euros.

Societe Generale SA (GLE FP): France’s second-largest bank reiterated its 2012 financial targets, including reaching 6 billion euros in annual profit next year. The shares fell 0.2 percent to 41.23 euros.

PPR SA (PP FP): The luxury-goods producer hired Rothschild & Cie. to arrange financing that could be used to fund a private-equity buyout of online retailer Redcats, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The shares rose 2.3 percent to 117.70 euros.

ProwebCE (ALPRW FP): The website developer said nonaudited first-quarter 2011 sales were 10.3 million euros ($14.5 million), compared with 8.7 million euros a year earlier. The shares were unchanged at 16.87 euros.
