RUSSIA DAYBOOK: Kremlin Briefing, Asia Forum, Gazprom, TNK-BP

May 23 (Bloomberg) -- Kremlin economic adviser Arkady Dvorkovich briefs reporters on President Dmitry Medvedev’s modernization program. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin holds a meeting on municipal policy in Pskov, near Estonia. Medvedev meets with Interior Ministry officials. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov speaks to reporters. OAO Kuzbass Fuel Co. reports.

WHAT TO WATCH: *Dvorkovich speaks to reporters on modernization after 10 a.m. *Putin holds meeting on municipal policy in Pskov, near Estonia. *Medvedev meets with Interior Ministry officials after 10 a.m. *Lavrov speaks to reporters after meeting his Argentine counterpart in Moscow. *Executives from companies including VTB Group, BNP Paribas, En+ Group and Eurasia Capital take part in a conference on raising capital in Southeast Asia.

EQUITY MOVERS: *Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder may replace a Russian government official on the board of OAO Gazprom, Vedomosti reported today. *TNK-BP plans $2.1 billion in dividends for the fourth quarter, pushing the full-year payout to 92 percent of net income, Vedomosti reported today. *Kuzbass Fuel, a Russian producer of coal for power stations, is due to report first-quarter earnings at 10 a.m. *Inter RAO UES is due to discuss new share issue at 3 p.m.

MARKETS: *The Micex Index slipped 1.6 percent to 1,603.97. The gauge has fallen 1.7 percent since May 13, its fourth-straight weekly decline. The dollar-denominated RTS Index fell 1.8 percent to 1825.34 *Russia’s benchmark 2018 ruble Eurobond fell, pushing the yield 9 basis points higher to 6.889 percent. *The ruble strengthened 0.1 percent to 28.0250 against the dollar and was 0.2 percent lower at 39.9375 per euro. *The MSCI Emerging Markets Index fell 1.2 percent to 1,126.39 at 8:19 a.m. *Crude for July delivery fell 0.6 percent to $98.91 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange as of 8:22 a.m. *Brent crude fell 0.9 percent to $111.41 as of 9:16 a.m. *Gold for immediate delivery fell 0.1 percent to $1,510.35 an ounce as of 8:24 a.m.
